I've been trying to find a paint shop to paint some splash guards to a 2004 Honda Accord to match the body color. See the link to a photo for reference.

All the paint shops say that it cannot be painted because it is textured plastic, and they could only paint it if it was smooth plastic. I thought any piece of plastic would be a paintable surface. :confused I'd really like to get these things matching the body color. Is there any way to go about it? Can they be sanded, primed, painted, and clear coated? Or is it really a lost cause?

Any help you guys can provide me is much appreciated. Thanks for reading this and for your time. :)

They can be painted, but the paint will flake off if it's not prepped 100% right. You will need to clean them extremely well and use some good adhesion promoter. Check the stickies for more info.
