I brought a complety stock 2000 EBP Si with 27K miles about 2 weeks ago.Last saturday I installed a AEM CAI In it and loved the sound and power that came with it.The car ran fine till last night wen I noticed at WOT around 4000-4500 RPM this buzzing noise came on.It seemed to come from the passenger front side,I can feel it buzz and vibrate.I know it isnt VTEC cuz the buzz comes on at 4500 rpm till 5000 rpm, then stops when VTEC hits.I rev the car when its in nuetral and its perfectly fine. No check light engine,no other werid noises. Oh yeah by the way, I did not reset the ECU when I installed my AEM CAI cuz the damn dealer still couldnt find my radio code.So what do u guys think the problem is? And if I chose to bring it back to the dealer, Do u guys think I Should put back my stock intake? Please help this sleepless car owner....

Check down where the intake drops into the fenderwell. Make sure the pipe is not coming in contact with the hole it needs to run through. Also make sure the bolt next to that hole is tight on the tab. It sounds to me like the pipe is banging onto something. Anyone else experience this?

Man as for that buzzing noise ,I have no idea whats goin on there. Can't help you out partner. Now if your dealer any sort of a cool guy, they rerally won't care if you have your intake on there...I take mine to my dealer all the time and they have never cared. All though I'm told that a CAI voids warrantee...there pretty low maintaince and dependable.

Sorry I can't help you anymore.....did you buy it from the dealer???

mine used to make some funny noises too but im pretty sure it was just something to do with the acoustics i guess of the new air flow and the exact position the intake is in and the path the air is flowing in. If your really worried about it, just remount it and get it sitting where it wont make that noise is. Its probably nothing to worry about though.

The thing is, when i had my aem cai for the first 2 days, the buzzing, vibrating noise wasnt there. Since it was dark and cold when I first heard the noise tonite, I couldnt get a chance to really see in my engine bay, BUT I did notice the AEM CAI was a *little* loose compared when I first install it.I'm praying that that its the problem. Thanks for tryin to help out guys,Anyone with additional advice or help is greatly appreciated.

i would say just dont worry about it unless its really that loud and obnoxious. Either that or just find a way to mount it better. I wouldnt even fuck with it though unless its just unbearable.

Trust me the buzzing and vibrating jus makes me not even want to hit vtec anymore. Everytime I hear it, It feels like my car is going to virbrate apart or something... It defitnely sounds like something is vibrating against something. The thing is why does it only happen at WOT at 4000- 4500 rpm? Does the intake shift more freely when at high rpms? Sorry for the the questions, I hope you guys understand.

i installed mine in the middle of the winter back in '99 when my ride had close to 6k.....i never heard any noises other than a "hissing" sound when the air gets sucked into the intake...check that you have put your fenderwell liner in place and is not flapping around....also did you use the adaptor screw with the rubber bushing attached to it????.....also let me know if you want the valve...I bought mine thinking I was going to install it but I dont want to since I like the CAI as is....the 1st 30 bucks will take it.....also I have the stem that AEM sent after some valves broke and went into the intake....Pm if you want....
