DETROIT – Seeking to build on the 25-percent retail sales gain by the G6 so far this year, Pontiac is revealing a new G6 GXP coupe show car at the upcoming New York International Auto Show. Designed to augment the G6’s sleek styling with a more aggressive appearance and stance, the new GXP show car will test both media and public reaction before any final decision on production is made.

“Although the GXP performance series has been very successful in the past, we’ve never attempted to introduce a GXP on our largest volume vehicle and we want to be sure we do it right,” said Dennis Maraone, Pontiac product director. “We believe the package of exterior, interior and performance enhancements we’ve put together on the G6 GXP show car should appeal to 2+2 coupe enthusiasts.”

NEW YORK – The Saturn PreVue crossover concept – revealed today at the New York International Auto Show – continues Saturn’s ongoing product revitalization and provides a glimpse of future Saturn vehicle designs.

The three-door, four-wheel drive crossover offers a sporty interpretation of Saturn’s new design language and illustrates how it could be applied to a future version of Saturn’s highly successful Vue compact SUV.

The PreVue was collaboratively developed with GM’s Opel brand and was seen as the Opel Antara GTC concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005. The vehicle is part of the ongoing cooperation between the Saturn and Opel brands

i am not really digging for pontiac and saturn to really follow import cars design. i see no motivation from GM to push sales.

I don't know about the GXP, but the GTP will now have the 250hp 3.6L Dohc (one in the cadillac CTS) as standard. I'm guessing that the GTP will get this engine as well. If not, then we'll probably see something like the 240hp 3.9l OHV v6. A v8 is out of the question.
