my friend showed me a magazine briefly a while back about a 6th gen civic with a CRV engine, thats hondas suv'ish vechile. And what I was told or understood was that was a more powerful swap then the h22a. Has anyone heard any information about this swap? holla back...

Usually this swap involves just the block of the B20 (CRV engine) then a B16 head is usually slapped on top along with stronger rods pistons & such. With that combination the motor revs like a B16 but has almost if not better the torque of an H22. Also any B series trans will do, personally I'd go w/ the LS trans w/a GSR 5th.

this swap is not as powerful as the h22. they only have about 140 something horse with about 150 something torque. And yes it is the B20 motor. Here is a pic of a hatch with this swap. A good thing about it is that if you want to keep an automatic transmission then you can use the auto B20 trannie.

They have a Turboe'd one in the December 2000 issue of SCC that made351hp & 263lb-ft at the wheels w. 12lb. of boost.

from what ive read its pretty much a straight bolt in, and it leaves you more room under the hood for goodies like turbos,sc's and such. but if i did a straight swap id go b18c5 :D just my 2 cents worth

The only thing about it that I've heard is, you can't use the b20 intake manifold, b/c there won't be enough clearance under the hood.. So you can swap it out for a b18b manifold or something.. Oh, and you need a b16 exhaust manifold too I think (or a b18) I'm not positive..
