Prelude to RSX

1996 Prelude VTEC to 2002 RSX-S

You guys think this is kind of a step down? or not enough of a change to justify a new car?

both fwd, similar numbers (as far as I've heard so far), prelude's got torque advantage, and later down the line, the aftermarket is gonna be bigger for the rsx...

Personally I have a prelude but really like the RSX-S aswell, why don't you just drive the new RSX and balance the options. Price is a hell of a big issue in this case.

ya, you need to drive it for yourself to answer that question. if $24K +/- is the most you can afford for a new car, then the rsx is a good choice (the other good choice would be the wrx). the performance numbers for the rsx may not be much better than those for your g4 lude, but personally, a newer car will always feel more refined and more enjoyable to drive.

i have a lude, and i used to work at an acura dealership and drive RSX's all the time... i like em a lot, but i don't think they have the style of a lude or the handling!!! ,... if ur gonna be racing, what i'd do is get Rear Wheel Drive!!!! or AWD!!!

yeah, and through my eyes they are ugly....and so are many other people's....

it may be fast and all...but it sure as hell doesn't look good...and no one thinks preludes are boxy...4th gens are curvey and sexy..

Just how is it superior in every way to a 96' VTEC? Both are equally fast, have (or will have in the RSX's case) strong aftermarkets, and come pretty fully loaded. The only thing I see in the RSX's favor is that it's a brand new car, and we all get goosebumps when we sniff that new car smell. I'm not saying the RSX is a bad car, I'm just curious on how you came to the conclusion that it's "superior in every way"?

there's nothing boxy about a 4th or 5th gen lude, i would take a lude anyday over an RSX, if your talkn bout a box on wheels you should see my escort gt, lol

Depends on how good of shape your car is in and how ready you are for a new car. Have you driven some other cars that aren't so closely compared, like a WRX?

if you want to race i definetely recommend the WRX.... im sorry but the WRX turbo can spank the preludes ass... i got murdered by 1.

WRX is a POS...go drive one and see how sloppy the tranny is...how light and POS everything feels..doors weigh 1 lb...hood is nothing...I feel like I am in a tin can!

Hell yea, new car is alway better, but some people like myself cannot afford it and even thought the RSX are a little faster but they are too round and fat. I think the 4g and 5g look better and no second though the WRX is the best choice for branch new car right now comparing power.
