Question on APEXI VAFC and the Super AFC

759 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  SpanishRicer
Do the VAFC and Super AFC work in tandem? ie. if i had both would that be overkill?

I know the VAFC adjust the VTEC crossover point, and the super AFC adjusts the F/A ratio.....
my question is if these work together, why are there very few setups (preludes at least) that use both...

thanks

v-afc = vtec air fuel controller
s-afc = super air fuel controller

when it comes to air/fuel settings, they are the same, but the v-afc is only for vtec engines. so, therefore... there is no reason to use both because they do the same thing!!!:)
you could be mistaken it with Apex v-afc and avc-r on a fi car those two do work in tandem :)

thats what i was thinkin....
is the VAFC a good thing to buy if you dont have much done to your car? I've been wanting one for awhile and not sure if I would notice the gains because I only have intake and exhaust.

if youre willing to get your car to the dyno and tune the vafc , it can be a very helpful :) ive seen i/h/e 5th gen gets an additional 5-10 hp with a vafc , so i think it worth the $300 :)
the vafc should be one of the last things that you get for your car it is sort of like the cherry on top, does not much alone but with the other stuff will work really well, and dont use the safc and vafc together

I think you'll still notice some gains with the VAFC, even with only intake and exhaust. I think the reason most people wait to get the VAFC last is to save money on dyno time. You don't want to have to go re-tune your car after every mod...
