raced a 3.0L turbo supra

i raced a 1991/92 3.0L Supra w/turbo, i was cruzin along and i c this car flash his lights at me from the other direction and wen he went past i saw it was a supra. i look in my mirror and i just c him do a uturn in the middle of traffic, to i think catch up to me...
i pull up at the lights and he is rite behind me. it goes green and i take off (really slow) i move up just enough so he can over take the car that was next to me and we are now side by side, goin about 60kmph.
he slows down just a bit wen he gets a little infront of me to make it even. rite at that point i know he was goin to down shift, so i thought im gonna go 4 it aswell. 2 my luck he did and i threw it into 2nd and just punched it. i had him straight away by a car length (sumhow), i shifted 2 3rd and he just started to creep on me. into 4th i had my front end just infront but by about the end of 4th he just got his nose infront (they r a fukn long ass car). i was goin bout 160kmph and just decided to back off just after i shifted 2 5th. coz as i shifted 2 5th he got me by 1/2 a car length, he just pulled away from me. too much top end speed he had. but i thought that was not a bad effort against a turbo supra, wit my all-motor civic coupe.

What do you have done to your civic?

Or is it stock VTI?

What year was the supra? And how did you know it was turbo?

Serious? really doubt it though... after all it is a supra. .. unless off course the one in the supra cant drive... ;p but since you put it that way.. good job! hehehe so what do you have in your ride ?

No offense but I seriously doubt that you could beat a supra. Even if your civic was turbo'd you couldn't beat a stock supra. They have way too much HP and Torque. Are you sure the supra was turbo'd??? Was it the new or old body? If you really beat than I give you props, but maybe the driver just sucked. Peace

ok buddy, based on what I know, there is no way you could beat, or even nearly hold a supra. First off, they are twin turboed. Second of all, you have a little DOHC vtec. Wow. Next, if you all dropped gears, yes you might be able to hold him for a second, but as soon as his turbo's spooled up and kicked in, there is no way you could hold him. On top of that, he has a 6 cylinder TT compared to your 4banged whatever. It doesnt really matter. After second gear, you would be toast. Trust me as I have had experience with this on my GSR civic. I raced a supra and that is exactly what happened. I held him good, then his turbo's kicked in and it was over. By the way, if you do have a turbo on your civic, then you might be able to hold him even longer, say the length of second gear, but I will guarantee you that you cannot beat a supra. Either that guy doesnt know how to drive, or he was just fuckin with you. But anyhow, trust me that did not happen.... Guaranteed!

haha, yea that civic was runnin 600 shot of nos and didnt even have to use it, plus he has a jet powered motor which he only had to half use. He was just messin with that supra. The supra must have been out of his mind to race that civic.

like was said before a 91-92 sura turbo only runs a high 14 so i think with some bolt ons a si would hang with it no problem.

i have a b16a in my 99 coupe and i hang with 98 gt's and i only have i/e and shitty ones at that so i believe you

OH YEA, and plus, who gives a piece of horseshit. I really dont care if he beat him or not. It's just that he boasts like its some quick old supra that jumped across the median to race him. If he would have just said it was a piece of shit old ass supra, then we wouldnt have to worry now would we? Haha.

Oh Please... Almost everyone here goes, oh supra damn! It'll beat anything. Let alone some cheap Domestic V8's could probably hand the supra its ass. So STFU.

Mojo-Jojo, and jdm99b16a were just pointing out that the Vti wouldn't need "600 shot of nos" or whatever your misguided ass said. Why don't you go read about other cars, and don't think the supra is end all of all cars.
