Go on youtube, find the videos that show you how to adjust your valves, and do it. you will need a bent neck 12mm, a screwdriver, and a feelergauge. Pop your hood, there should be a sticker that says the valve adjustment tolerances

If you have to buy all tools, maybe 35 bucks at most. Put aside about 2-3 hours to do this if youve never done a valve adjustm, ent.

Or just take your car to a shop and have them do it. My car ticks more as I beat on it, a adjustment cures the ticking.

You could also be low on oil

Well, do realize when you tighten that screw, it can make the adjustment go out a lil again. Recheck your adjustment, in the mean time, check your oil and coolant levels, make sure your sparkplugs are snug, if they are lose, they tick a lil, then they start to sound like a lawnmower when they get really lose.

In the mean time, simply dont beat on it, Id say dont bring it past 3500rpms unless you have too (steep hill, etc...)
