i have a 97 prelude with an aem intake. I have been racing a few of my friends that have a 96 gti vr6 and a Bmw E30 M3. It's been close between us all but i want to know what i could do to get ahead of them for a good amount with like a 1000$. Let me know of any performance parts you guys think would help me out. I have ordered a thermal R&d exhuast system and dont know what to do next

I'd say cam gears, header, and then have everything dyno tuned.

Vtec Controller, pullies, header
header, pullies, springs, v-afc...

i think u can pull it off for 1k
A turbo. if that is too expensive then get cam gears and cam shafts. no point in headers. they really dont help, but i guess every little bit counts
hey how much do that V-afc and the S-afc (whatever is for non vtec) controlers run.

I thought they were expensive as hell.

You can get a good NOS setup for less than 1k.
a 75 shot will guarantee ya atleast a sec faster in the 1/4mile on a 5gen.
the Header on the Preludes are the most minimal gain. Just wrap em and get a good intake and do some of the free mods.

Is the last M3 E36 not E30? Please tell me if I am wrong.
are those VAFC's really worth the $300 that they cost? should i consider getting one when i do my swap?
camshafts/valves/and nitrous.....

or just nitrous 75shot
NOS dude bmw's are pretty fast. then later along the line u can build up your internals

HELL YEAH. But there is a BUT. The car needs to be dyno tuned to get the most out of it. When I got my car tuned... there was a 5 Gen (his car is the black 5th gen in the backround of my pictures) base put 170 to wheels.... added a VAFC- 178hp to the wheels.

Heres the kicker.... he only gained 8 hp top end. But before VTEC kicks in.... the car loses power stock. With a VAFC... he set up fuel and VTEC just right and gain 44 hp at 4200 rmps. His car would run 14s.- No doubt.
I beat gti vr6's with my h23.. you're only close with your h22? :confused: No flame here, just curious.
WHAT, a 75 shot only takes off a second? that cant be right, with my mods that make maybe 20-25hp ive shaved a good second off of a stock 15.4, if you areint in the mid 13's with that then u either need tires or a new driver

You trying running mid 13's in a Lude with a 75 shot, then after you're done melting the tires through 3rd gear, show me a slip.:D
It's not like the Fast and the Furious where you can just bolt on a nitrous system and gain over a second in the quarter mile. Bolt ons are relatively simple to work with, they really don't add that much hp and torque and are driver friendly. Nitrous is the exact opposite and requires deft clutch action and prayer to pull off consistent times, well at least with a manual.
