96 and up civics use an "OBDII" ecu - which cannot be chipped. That is your problem. If you REALLY want a chip - you will have to buy a "OBDI" ecu (92-95 civic (P28)) - and have it chipped - and then buy a 250 dollar conversion harness so you can plug it in.

So pretty much - you aren't going to get shit out of a chip - unless you have a shitload of mods and/or FI. That setup I described will run you about five hundred all together. I have pretty much all the boltons - and i'm in the process of getting a cam - so an ecu chipped will be beneficial to me. If I had to do it again - I would get a stand- alone type module. I think you can get used DFI for about the same price as I paid for all that shit.

What mods do you have?

I have a 92 Si hatch and I have seen those chips on Ebay also. So what I am hearing is that unless you have a performance cam a chip won't do much good. I just have the normal bolt ons, no FI or internal build up...plus I'm a little concerned about messing up my ECU while installing the new chip.

What to do.....
