I am thinking about buying a used '06 EX Pilot in leather used. It has center diff locking button and rear locking differintial. Is the button just to lock the transfer case 50/50 front and back power distribution? Is there rear diffa limited slip rear end or a locking diff activated by the switch. :confused

The transfer case always sends the same power back, no matter what. The only difference is whether or not the clutches in the rear diff are engaged, sending power to the rear wheels. When the front wheels slip under normal driving, the clutches can engage sending 50% of the power to the rear. The VTM-4 button locks the rear clutches manually. This means that 3 of the 4 wheels will get power (the front diff is open and cannot be locked), but this will making binding in the driveline when turning, especially at low speeds. The VTM-4 can only be engaged when the transmssion selector is in R, 2 or 1.

Have to add that it can only be engaged at under 18 MPH.
