Does anybody know where i can get the "rear performance rod" off Type R's? Its this strut bar like rod that reinforces the rear of the trunk where the trunk closes on to. Thanks

try asking a dealership or a junk yard. I doubt it'd do much though.

is this bar bolted in the sheetmetal? or are their special flanges on the Type R for it?

i'll take a look at it later on then get back to you on that. I'm not sure what its attached to but i've heard that it wouldnt fit non-Type R's without some drilling done.

Yup. You have to modify a non-ITR to have that bar bolt on.

I bought what I think is one of those and would like to know more info about it before attempting to bolt it on.

the boot floor brace? BackYard Special make an adjustable one. www.pac-gate.co.jp never seen the ITR one though.

That BackYard place looks cool....it looks like some of their stuff is a little on the cheap side though. Gosh I need to go to Japan for a week and get parts

You will gain little if any noticeable difference when adding the rear trunk brace to a non type-R. It is a factory frill that is to reinforce the trunk area across the back. Coupled along with the other unique reinforcements provides maximum structural rigidity.

A better idea is to invest in an rear strut tower bar from some company like Spoon, Benan, Mugen or even the OEM /ITR bar. There are plenty of bars available and all sorts of designs and prices to match.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, Why do you want/need a rear strut bar? Do you know what they are designed to do?

Take a look at the diagram to see just what the difference is when comparing the R's chassis and others.

The rear of my chassis can never be too stiff/rigid when you have a H22 sitting in the front of your car . I already have our very own SKUNK2 rear bar/frontbar/lower tie bar .
