Fronts accelerate, brake, turn, and support over 60% of the weight.
Rears brake (minimally b/c of weight transfer and distribution), hold the rear in corners but don't turn, and support less than 40% of the weight.
I would think this would just be common sense. There are many FWD race cars with bigger front tires than rear you know.
