Hey guys, need your help again.
So when I put my 96 ex in reverse it doesn't always lock in when I release the clutch and sometimes even when it's in it makes a loud grinding sound. ever heard of this? should I be worried about it?
thanks for your imput. :confused :confused :confused

hey, welcome to SHO.

this is quite common, and it's nothing of grave concern, but letting it grind all the time will eventually cause problems. the best thing to do is to put it in 2nd gear, before putting it in reverse. this slows the transmission down (even if you just started the car) and allows it to fully engage reverse about 98% of the time.

Thanks! Dude thats a relief, I was afraid I was gonna have to replace the tranny or something. I just bought this car and it has 130,000 miles so I was expecting something worse.
