reverse grinding
hi everyone..
im gettin grinding sometimes when i put it in reverse... wut could be the cause of this? and yes i do push the clutch in all the way... but still it grinds.. thanks

do you stop all the way before going into reverse? If you don't, then you answer your own question.

Try to fully depress your clutch pedal for like 2-3 seconds before you shift into reverse. This should help reduce the chance of grinding when you shift into the reverse gear. And yes, stop all the way before you shift into reverse helps alot too.

Yeah, if you aren't completely stopped they will grind. This is because the reverse gear does not have a synchro.

coo thanks guys for the help... but yah this happens when i first start up the car. i found out in the civic board if you put it into first before reverse it should be ok.. thanks again

yeah every time i go to reverse i stick it up to first, works all the time.

Before you goto reverse go thru all your gears(12345)

It could be due to the fact that when you first start up your car your idle is high while it warms up. If you try to shift into reverse when the revs are up it grinds a little. I just use a lot of clutch before I put it in reverse and I don't have any problems.

All Honda's do that unless you put in a couple of gears first. Dunno why...
