Ok here is the story,

I am chaiging the springs off the car to coilovers. I got the front take off alright. Now I am on the back passenger side. I am trying to remove the top bolt, but it seems to be stuck. I am going to say rusted to the washer that is below it. we I have sprayed about a whole can of Wd-40 onto the bolt, I have tried to take it off, but it won't budge. well now we are safe to say the bolt is stripped onto it.

Does anyone have any suggestion on getting it off. I tried the gator Grib, (it sucks) don't use it.. I don't know what else to do. I started to file the bolt down to break it then go to Discount and get another nut. but It has taken my three hours to get to the point I am, and I still can't get it off. whats your suggestion?

u mean the bolt in the lower control arm that hold up the shock?

Probably does mean the LCA bolt(s). Cut them off and get new bushings pressed in...do a search you'll find lots on this.

this link is a Do-it-urself article. I had the similar problem with the LCA bolts if that wat ur plm is. Lot of pictures involve, so just a little warning if u have 56K modem connection.

you can always try heating it then letting it cool... heat it up with an acetylene torch or propane torch or whatever... the expanding and contracting should loosen it up... just make sure you're not torching anything flammable...

ohh I got them off, after chipping away for it for at least an hour.

I went to discount and got the same size bolt, put it on and all is good. Least I have another 10 years before this one can give me trouble.

invest in a case of PB Blaster. Have never had a bolt not come out after i used the stuff.

You've never dealt with seized LCA bolts then. There's no other option but to replace the bolts and usually the bushings too. Use some anti seize when you put it back together, it'll keep it from sezing up again.

the reason why the LCA's bolts are always frozen is because honda didnt grease the LCA bolts then :confused

and yes they are a bitch!! lol, ive been there done that...good thing i had a lift and a torch

those are fun, i had one that fused itself in on the rear drivers side and took me 2.5 hours of drilling it out. now thats a good time :ahh
