There is no S2K Type R. An owner of an S2K, however, created a very convincing web page detailing the specs of a supposed Type R model in the works. He created the page to gauge interest and invoke honest opinions about it from the car enthusiast community. In the end, his goal was to show Honda the interest in an S2K Type R.

there is no type r. but in japan there was a type V, only 300 was built. it has a few more ponies and more torque, and better handling.

The only difference between the S2000 and S2000 Type V is that the Type V has Variable Gear Steering, or VGS. It does not have more hp or torque.
the JDM s2000 has a few more ponies than the USDM, due to higher octane gas a .6 difference in compression ratio.

here is the type V:
Length / Width / Height (mm) 4135 / 1750 / 1285
Wheel base (mm) 2400
Weight (kg) 1260
Engine 2.0 l-4 DOHC VTEC
Horsepower (PS/rpm) 250 / 8300
Torque (kgm/rpm) 22.2 / 7500
