I want to get a shortshifter, but I don't know which one to get.
I want one that will shorten the through, but also lower the shifter a little bit (I like the way that looks)

I have heard very good things about the DC but I hear they break?????

PLease post your opinions/experiences.

Thanks

I have i DC Sport short shifter on my 99 Civic Si. I have had no problems with it to date it has been in there for about 2 years. It does what you want shortens the throught and shrinks the shifter. i have heard about them breaking but mine seems to be holding up very well. hope this helps you out a little.

ive also heard very good things about dc sports. Most people say that c's is the best but it costs around $300 i think. When it comes time for me to get one i will probably go with dc sports. You could always go to the local pep boys and pick up an APC for $40 lol :D

the neuspeed kit i have definitely sits the knob lower, does shorten the throws by 20%, and does feel a lot better than stock. If you are looking for something that will be dramatic and feel great, go with the Skunk 2 kit. I wish I would have gone with either the DC Sports kit or the Skunk 2 kit myself...

I was gonna get the dc...Does the skunk lower the shifter?
yes it does. The other nice thing about the skunk 2 kit is the fact that it has a ball bearing bottom, so the shifts are very smooth. They are bearings sort of like on a skateboard's wheels, and supposidly it feels a lot better than other shifters without the bearing. The skunk 2 kit is a little more expensive, but imo well worth the money. However, you WILL be happy with the DC Sports kit...I guarantee it!

the dc sports comes with a ball bearing bushing at the bottom of it. the skunk shifter sounds real similar to the dc sports it sounds like.

how the hell do you break a short shifter?? did the actual metal break, or at the bushing? you gotta be manhandling the damn thing to do that.
