i just installed a B&M short shfter on a buddies car and the bottom of the shifter hits/rubs the exhaust pipe, did i do something wrong? this is the second short shifter i have installed and ive had this prob both times. anyone got any ideas
I have this problem also (sometimes). And I just have a cheap shifter. Is the exhaust stock? IF so, did you take out the heat shield? I took the shiel out and still ahd to trim the flange on the linkage to clear the exhaust. Sometimes going over bumps I can feel it thunk against the pipe and I still have a stock exhaust. Weak! I was thinking of getting a B&M in hopes it would remedy the problem, guess I won't bother!
