Should i go all motor on my 94 gsr? I will have a little less then 2 grand to spend(sparing a little here and there if i can). If i went all motor, i was thinking of crower 402 cams and gears, apex vafc, intake, header( i have dunk cat back), crower valvesprings and retainers. does anyone have any other/better suggestions on these parts for best ferformance, would it b a lot more worth it if i saved to get toda spec Bs. The other thing i was considering was to save a little more and get a Jackson supercharger. If i go all motor, can i add nitrous with no problem?

Definitly. I say go all motor. I think you'll enjoy it more. then if you want to do the JRSC later you can.

BTW, where are you may end up spending more for the parts than $2,000 (see below). Don't cheap out thought, get save a little longer if it takes it.

crower 402 cams and gears = $650
crower valvesprings & retainers = $325
crower valves (i&e) = $270
apexi vafc = $300
intake = $200+
headers = $400+

total = $2145+

If anyone has seen these cheaper let me know. I'm doing a lot of work this spring too.

Thanks

I say since you have a GSR go FI.

I am an NA guy but, I have an ITR so that is a totally different story.

But, I have to agree that;

"BTW, where are you may end up spending more for the parts than $2,000 (see below). Don't cheap out
thought, get save a little longer if it takes it."

Either NA or FI done correctly will put you over the $2000. limit. Don't cheat yourself with cheap parts for either endeavor.

In the immortal words of Tuan, "You get what you pay for..." Ok those are my words too but, I know he'd agree.

Good luck,

A.

Check your compression first. You want to know the condition of your internals before you start spending money on the externals.

what kind of hp can i expect to see if i go all motor with these mods.(ball park figures). can i spray with these mods? do i really need new valves.
While you're in there you might as well replace the valves. Titanium is overrated IMO, but it's still cheap. Yes you can spray with these mods, but, as deMad said "Check your compression first." You'll be very upset if you put all of this money into the car only to blow out the bottom end. I don't know about HP figures because I don't know what aspiratioin choice you're going with, but crower's website has the Dyno charts for their stuff.

All of the items listed sound like a good place to start. If you are serious in the all motor scheme then if I were you I would look for some higher compression pistons. Plus, since your engine is a 95, the rings are most likely starting to wear.

Turbo is the best way to go for power. Just save your pennies and get a Drag kit. Although if you do not like messing with your car (troubleshooting) go NA. NA is reliable but it takes a lot of dough to go fast.

I went turbo and there are "hidden" cost to it. Like new clutch and better wastegate(tial). These are things you do not NEED but it's better to have. There are other stuff I want to get but do not have the cash. (hondata)

Yeah but not as much. Plus if you are going all motor you can't spray. N20 is not all motor.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned nitrous yet?? I think the original poster is the only one who's even asked??:D

Anyways, why don't you just ride in a couple FI cars and a couple N/A cars?? Then ask yourself the same question again. You obviously haven't ridden in either since your asking in this webforum. Instead of asking should you go N/A or FI, you should be asking yourself "should I go with jun or todas?" or "should I get direct port or a t4 turbo?".

But, if you do decide to go N/A, then you better go extreme N/A. Not just that intake/header/exhaust crap. It's a lot of time and it's a lot of money to go N/A. So do it right the first time.

P.S. - Don't listen to our opinions.:D
