Hey I have an auto Dx CR-X and was planning to do the DPFI - MPFI swap and I was wonder if i can do it before the tranny swap (auto to manual) like can you have the auto tranny with si ECU?

there's been alot of debate about this and I think the outcome is that the ecu's have no control over the older tranny's...they're controlled by valving, etc. you may get a code from using the manual ecu, but it 'should' work....
the Si ECU would not work...I'm not sure it the car would run or not. I'm asumiong if it did run you'd get check engine lights 'n stuff but I'm not sure it would work. You could get an ECU from a 5th gen Civic though. Like from a del Sol Si. You jsut won't have VTEC (obviously) but aht ECU would work.
but how would the ecu from a 5g civic work if its going in a non obd car or is the del sol non obd?
u can't use a manual ecu for an auto tranny
But Does anyone kno would the si engine run with an auto tranny just with the checkengine light
