[Hybrid Fever]

I was just wondering what do they look for on the visual inspection part of the smog test. How could they tell the difference between a usdm & jdm b16a or b18c? I know that the jdm gsr has "vtec" bigger than the "dohc", but couldn't you just change the valve covers? Anyone?

my dad is a smog tech and when they do a visual inspection he says jdm engines usually dont have all the smog components. i think hes talking about like egr valves and all that other smog stuff. he didnt tell me exactly how they know but he said he could tell off the bat if its jdm/us. thats why hes making my ass get a us h22a instead of a jdm =P damn

Damn, it's hard to find obd-1 usdm engines with low miles. I'll have to get a 98 gsr setup with a 95 ecu.
