Just exactly how much better are snow specific tires over all season? I have BFGoodrich all seasons on my steelies and the traction is fair, and my friend has snow tires, and the taction is much better. Now, granted I have a 5th gen civic, and he has a 5th gen 4dr accord ex, which is a bit heavier, but the rest is the same. I have an open diff (as does the accord Im sure). Since this winter is coming down, I am going to get a nice set of snow tires for next year. But I would like to know, just exactly how much better they are over all seasons in the snow. I know the tread is better, and the rubber compound stays sticky when its freezing, but if you were to rate both tires on a scale of 1 to 10, where would you put the snow tires, compared to the all seasons?

snow tires are a HUGE improvement over all seasons (if you get the right ones)...you can get by on all seasons but you can drive on snow tires if you want a comparison
