with a perfect driving record do you think insurance for a sol would be the same as a coupe? the reason i ask is that my girl just paid off her 97 ex coupe and now wants a sol, i thought it bein a 2 seater in all would jack the rates up, am i wrong? i hope so. oh btw shes 20 if that helps

I'm 30 with a ticket or two. The car's a 97 Si w/ full coverage and it's about $80/mo with State Farm.

i'm wondering if I should tell them if I ever decide put a B16 engine into it.... technically that would be a VTEC del Sol not an Si del Sol thus it should have higher rates. Anyone got a clue on this one? Do you get screwed by the insurance if something happens and you've completely changed your car's engine/performance capabilities?

i know you can insure it sep. but i think it won't boost your ins. cuz i had a camaro w/ a 396 swapped into it (reg. a 350) and the ins. knew..... corse it was a classic too.

it depends on the Insurance Company. Some might calssify it as a Hodna del Sol and some might calssify it as a Honda Civic del Sol. if they classify it as a Civic del Sol it'll eb cheaper than as a del Sol.

Im 21, and thanks to my prior tickets... I have insurance that would pay for a legit driver pretty much driving a Z28. Its bullshit, I fucking hate insurance companies. I have a 4 cylinder that is just as much as a 8 cylinder, all because I have 1 or 2 tickets that I couldn't escape from driver school. FUCK INSURANCE COMPANIES, AS FAR AS I CAN SAY, DONT TELL THEM WHAT YOU HAVE BECAUSE THEY WILL FUCK YOU!!!!!!

After 6 tickets, a failure to provide inspection, and an operating after suspension later....the cheapest I can get full coverage is $233 for 6 months.

i'm in NY and I have a 1994 Vtec sol. It is registered under my fathers name which is the same as mine, and I am under his insurance. It is a little over $850 a year. That is full coverage collision/comprehensive. By myself it would be well over $3000

Even though I don't have a del Sol, I'll still relay my insurance info. When I lived in NC, my insurance was $550 every 6 months. When I moved to TN in went to over $1300 every 6 months. The insurance company said it's because TN has a lot of young drivers that are inexperienced.
