Faulty ground on the interior fuse box, rusty wires, burned circuitry, blown fuse, all of these I have experienced and they all cause funny gauge happenings like that. DOn't know which one, if any are the problems for you.

the best thing to do is to take some brake cleaner. take the plug off. spray it into the both plugs. then take compressed air and blow it out. make sure its all dry plug it back up and see what happens

Could be the guage itself, but tyring to find what is causing the interferrence may be a better way to go at first.
chase you need a massive slapping across the fucking head. I should be down there on saturday. pm a cell number so I can see what your doing
