Hey all,

I know this may sound dumb but i was trying to help a friend get off pinstriping off his 99 accord. I guess the previous owner thought that pinstriping looked good on it for whatever cracked out reason.. anyways i used a hairdryer and took all the striping off. This worked really good cept for a few spots where the glue residue that was left over just is super stoborn. All the other glue residue that was left came off with some turtle wax.

Anybody have any suggestions that i can use to take it off without ruining the clear coat or anything?

I've heard that there's some 3m rubber tip for a dremel or drill that you can use to buff the stuff off.. but i'm not sure if i heard that for use on a car or a boat.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Crap... forgot a follow question...

Again i turn to all the veterans in here.

My 98 accord LX has the black little rubber stripe that runs down the doors on both sides. I was wondering how and if anyone knows if you can buy new ones the color of your car.. or if you have to take your car to a body shop and have them painted?
Or maybe you can remove them altogether.. but i'm affraid that there will be little hole's there or something.

sorry for posting a totally diff question in the same thread hah..

again, thanks in advance,

use a hairdryer to heat it up and it should just peel off and if a razor wont scratch it then use that to get it off, its a bitch to remove em i know kuz i have em on my 94 coupe, but it looks cleaner w/o em:D

thanks for the info guys..

I was going out the door to go buy some 3m adheasive removal that i heard about and my wife was like "oh.. i bought some of that for our old car. and we never used it.."

hah so i tried that.. man it worked like a charm. Just sprayed on affected area.. waited like 2 minutes.. then wiped with one of those 100% cotton "dipers" and it just came off like butter.

Again thanks for all the responses.. helped me make my descision.
