Dear Summit Racing Customer,

Your hobby is in danger! Proposed U.S. government legislation, U.S.
Senate Bill S.1766, would allocate federal funds for state scrappage programs
for vehicles more than 15 years old. In the process, it could threaten the
very existence of our hobby by:

*Destroying 1960s and 70s era musclecars

*Scrapping 1980s performance vehicles like Mustangs, Camaros, and Corvettes

*Eliminating many non-performance vehicles which provide an invaluable parts
source

Take a stand for your rights--and your hobby--by letting your U.S. Senator
know how this bill will directly affect you. Log onto our website at
http://www.SummitRacing.com for a copy of our Legislator Letter, which you
can print, sign, and mail to your Senator. Then, go to
http://www.enjoythedrive.com/san for a complete list of legislator names and
addresses, plus additional information on U.S. Senate Bill S.1766.

Act now--your hobby may depend on it!

that's fuckin crazy... and it doesn't matter if we own muscle cars or not... the fact of the matter is that the government is try to tell people what cars they can and can't have... and that's bullshit. i'm sending a letter against this fuckin thing right now. i can't ever see old muscle cars going away, they're what started this whole thing... they were first. just think what could be next. any late 80's early 90's honda, toyota or mitsubishi car that has been modified for performance? jeezus can you imagine? fuck that...

as much as that legislation may suck for car enthusiasts, any one here live in california? the air is nasty. old cars spew out nasty exaust that is fucking our air, which is making our planet (depending on who you listen to) warmer, which in turn is fucking my winter!!!!!! (I snowboard alot, so I need snow). I love cars. I have a 75 Jeep J-10 with a sweet 360 cid V8. but, if this is done on a large scale, it could seriously help on alot of fronts. petrol consumption would go down, cause old gas guzzlers would be less and less prevelant, bam! gas prices go down. air gets cleaner, good for the grandkids and squirrels. don't everyone do a knee jerk reaction and start protesting before you read all of the type on this legislation. remember, summit caters to older muscle cars, so they are protecting their interests($$$$$), not your hobby. Like I said, I don't wanna lose my car, but, if this is done in large scale, only good things can come of it. now, somebody come over and help an old man off this soapbox.

well to be honest with u i dont think it would ever pass anyway do u know how many people own old cars. ive owned 2 F bodies in the past 3 years and i just sold my 86 Trans Am. Also tehre are so many restored 60s and 70s sports cars and other cars like that, that if they passed the law they wouldnt have the $ to buy th ecars from teh guys who own them for the pure fact of it being a priceless vehicle. IF teh law is passed there will be a slim chance they will get teh cars away from their owners.I know my uncle who owns 2 1969 camaros would never sell or get rid of them. plus the cars are historic and are a part of this countries history. if we destroy theses cars it would be like destroying teh declaration of independence.

that's why i love honda so much, because they not only care about high performance but also environmental friendly. honda makes one of the most cleanest engine in the world. they have a zero emission engine that one a good day in cali the exhaust is clearner then the air it suck in. cool stuff.
