I was wondering what it actually sounds like when you're grinding. My LS swap is also "grinding" in 3rd, I believe. It drive perfect when daily driven, but when I'm taking it to near redline and shifting really close, it makes a grinding noise and feeling at the shifter.
Do note that I DO have a GSR shift linkage with a '93 and earlier LS shifter (which I had to adapt washers with to make it fit). My LS is a 95, so the shifter may be the prob...but not sure.
