brian the Dinan chip is really not worth it, just because it doesnt void ur warranty dont mean it's good, i think erik knows that already

I have a Dinan brochure for the E46 and it says that the Stage 1 chip upgrade only raises the rev limit a few 100 rpm's and removes the top speed limiter.

If you get the Dinan CAI or throttle body upgrade you have to have the Stage 1 software installed before they can put in the Stage 2 software. At least this was the impression I got from reading their brochure.

Does the increased red line make much of a difference?
