Tanabe and other exhausts

If anyone has the tanabe hypermedallion can you tell me how it sounds. Im looking for a not to loud sound with nice and low tone and no interior annoying drone. I know the comptech has the sound i want but lacking in the hp department. Also does anyone know which exhaust system gives the best hp and torque gains:cool:

Thanks everyone for always taking the time to give good replys

comptech is one of the best for hp. plus you dont lose a lot of low end torque like you would w/ any catback.
comptech?

How is the comptech good for hp its just axleback and everyone back at the av6 forum said there was low gains with it but everything else was great
I have the Tanabe Hyper Medallion on my 2000 Civic EX and I love it. It is not loud at all. I don't know how much hp you are expecting but I noticed a little difference when I put it on. I don't know if that helps any.
well, you really dont get very good gains out of an exhaust anyway. maybe like 5 hp at most. so i would choose an exhaust based mostly on the look and sound of it. and if you get a catback, you will lose low end power and lose fuel economy since you will subconsciously step on the gas more to compensate for loss of power. and i know people have gotten good gains out of the comptech exhaust.
I dunno about the HP & torque gains, but as far as the way the Tanabe Hypermedallion sounds, it's kinda loud for my taste. It's really deep, but quite loud, imo. ;)
oooh

I seee well right now have an aem cai and soon to have comptech headers and then exaust was going to be my next little extra so im still trying to decide so any suggestions are great
Also....

4 door? Hmmm... not sure. My experience was from the coupe, not sedan. :)
v6 cp girl

i know you said that you dont know what the hp and torque gains were but when you put them on did you feel a noticeable difference
what about apexis ws

does anyone have this the reason i am asking about this is because nhancd accord is running a crazy time of 13.9 and this is the exhaust he has with the rest of his mods

Not a noticeable difference. Personally I much prefer the Greddy Evo & MX. :)
Thanks

well looks like tanabe is out unless i here some good news about it. Now up to comptech greddy, and possibly apexi

Between Comptech & Greddy, I think you the decision would be based on how dramatic of a look/sound you want. The Greddys definitely make their presence known... they're a good size, and the sound is awesome- deep, yet not too loud. The Comptechs look good and are very subtle. It's personal preference, imo. :)
the comptechs will be better for a daily driver. the greddys would be better for the 1/4 mile. if you drive your car around alot, i would def. go w/ the comptechs.
all really good suggestions

since there is so many kinds of greddy exhaust for 1/4 mile time what would you recommend.

i wouldnt doubt it, every greddy exhaust i've heard was pretty loud.

All exahusts, not just Greddy, have a drone to it. But usually that goes away when you're not accelerating heavily. Of course when you're at a stop and you go, or when you're merging onto the freeway or something, you'll defintely hear it. But for my bf's Greddy MX's, and the same for my RS*R Invidia exhuast, for both systems you can't really hear it when you're going at a steady speed. :)
