Swapped in a new engine in my crx last weekend. awesome learning experience, i know so much more now about hondas.

The camera I used liked to turn itself off after so many mins, so there are pauses in the video, but oh well.

Look for random drunks coming in and talking, maybe helpin, using the engine bay as a table for pizza, curts funny face lol, i dunno what else...

I would replace all the lil parts that may go bad soon anyways, its alot easier to deal with em while the motor is outta the car neways. things like plugs, wires, cap, rotor, water pump, timing belt, pcv valve thermostat, and possibly dizzy, alternator, o2 sensors, and tps. the last 4 arent a must but may help later on when you trying to get it to start. I may have forgot some things so check the links at the bottom

ALSO: if you have a DX you have to wire up MPFI so you arent running on 2 injectors...it will run like ass if you dont.

very nice looks like you have a nice garage. way better then mine :p so If I do I swap I should set aside about a week?

what would you say was the most dificult part of the swap so I can prepare for it?
it took a weekend to get it in and runnin, then an extar day or 2 to get it runnin good. also I took one night before the swap to prep the new engine (clean stuff, replace stuff, valve lash adj.)

hmm the hardest part probably would be the wiring because it can get confusing, but you you follow the pinouts right and wire it up good you will be fine

antoher tip: you have to use your wiring harness and NOT the jdm one, the wires are totally different on the jdm one ( i found that out the hard way lol)

You will need a multimeter to test voltage and resistance to make sure things are wired up right. also a wire stripper and crimper helps, maybe even soldering iron.

lets see if i can get some write-ups i used here

b16's are overpriced and torque less. You could have saved urself a lot of money and just built the d15... could have made more power for less money :rolleyes

nice car man :tu

good shit, u def learn alot about shit when u are doing it. in this new year alone i went from never doing a swap to performing 4 motor swaps, 2 which were unassisted. I completly wired a dx ( b18a1 ) from head light to tail light with a Si body and motor harness and converted dpfi to mpfi.

Post more shit of ur cars progress, the elapes time was a cool idea, i was about to do it for my swapsbut followed up on it
