It's about time to replace the batery on my 98 Civic. I am looking into the Durlast battery from AutoZone that puts out 500 cold cranking amps and 600 cranking amps. The stock battery is at 410, so this should help out. What other batteries are good for around $50?

Sears has some good batteries. But, when I lived up north (WI), I always went for the higher cranking amps because of the cold weather. The Duralast should be good.

an alternative

you might want to consider the svr batteries...it's specifically a car audio battery that you can use for starting. it's the perfect fit for civics...especially for those with the car and can't get optimas that fit. you can drain/recharge them without any concerns and they should recharge quicker. it's not cheap though...
