This weekend im going to get headers so what should i get
4-2-1 or 4-1 ????
i have a 99' gs-r

get a 4-2-1 if you want off the line hp, a 4-1 for hp at the higher end.

My Opinion:
If your car is mostly for daily-driving, occasional strip---invest in a SS 4-2-1 header.

If your car is mostly for strip/drag use than daily-driving---invest in a SS 4-1 header.

what about a ceramic one? dont ceramics promote cooler engine bay temperatures?

They also tend to crack...run the SEARCH function, not too long ago there was a discussion on ceramic and SS headers.

ahh but wouldnt that be under repeated racing conditions, like not just for daily driving? i know they are more brittle, but new ceramics will come out in the near future that will be better engineered. its all about smaller molecules people, smaller molecules. remember that. anyhoo thanks for the info.

I had DC ceramic headers...in less than 2 years they cracked. I dont know about now, but maybe in the near future theyll engineer stronger ceramic products.
