hey everyone, I'm doing a 5th Gen HB in April and here's what I'm thinking of doing.

1. Swap with a B18C1
2. Drag III Turbo Kit
3. other necessities or recommended mods such as suspensions, coilovers, brakes etc.

My question is, would I be able to put a Type R tranny into a B18C1? (I want the LSD) but I don't know anything about transmissions

yeah it'll bolt up just fine.


most B series engine parts are compatable with eachother.

You could also look into the LS tranny for the longer gears and add a LSD to it.

The Type R trannys are too tall for highway cruising though. My friend has one on his B18c and he is constantly engaging vtec at 70 mph or so. Since your going turbo I would suggest you go with the LS tranny though. The long gearing and quick revs of your motor should help out alot.
