I'm going to change the transmission oil next week.
The owners manual lists regular motor oil grades for the tranny oil???
Is this right?

No, you don't want to put regular motor oil in your tranny. Go to the Honda dealer and pick up the genuine stuff.

I say just use a good synthetic 5w30 or 10w30. That is what was suggested to me.

ludeboy is right.. dont put that reg oil in there.. go to honda and get the Genuine Honda Manual Tranny Fluid.... that is the ONLY thing i would recommend and i STRONGLY recommend it... and its cheap so dont worry bout that.. it might even be cheaper than the reg oil... good luck..

Yeah if you are just going to dump in motor oil....get something crazy.

I think they do have some performance type MT oil from honda.

I was just curious about the grades. 5w30, 10w30 are motor oil grades. I thought tranny oil was something different and needed a different viscosity rating?

yes, the manual states you can use regular motor oil if absolutely necessary... get some honda MTF...
