YO i was thinking bout adding a Turbo in my R what should i do put a turbo in or just lower it and do body work?
Both is awul..except lowering by installing a better suspension.

1) Turbo.... Honda used their genious minds to built an n/a racecar with high revs, stiff chassis and lightweight in mind.. And they created a legendary track car. Throw a turbo in and you shit on that.. just my opinion

2) Bodywork......For show or aerodynamic ? There`s nothing I would say against a Mugen-kit, but I guess you`re thinking of the other way.... Spend your money to make her fast, not to slow her down. Give the respect to your R it deserves..

Good point and i would like to add that the ITR is a finely tuned machine and it should really stay that way. High CR is ideal for pumping out alot of HP easily but its alot less safe compared to say a b18b1 or even a b18c1.
b18b1 - 9.2:1
b18c1 - 10.0:1
b18c5 - 10.6:1
You can see that the b18b1 has a low CR and that is great for a nice safe turbo. Alot of guys run a turbo setup and pump 250+HP and its very safe. The b18c1 can be turbo but it takes a little more then stock parts to do it. You must upgrade and fuel system and I would get internal work done to be safe as well.
They Type R (b18c5) runs even higher CR and will turbo but in my opinion its just over that line of a safe engine. If you really want to though it could be done. Its going to cost alot seeing as you would want to do major internal work aswell as fuel and ignition and tune tune tune (eheh there ya go matt ;)
Anything CAN be done but generally i would say build a NA engine. A type R is not a drag car if you are getting smoked by turbo/GSR civics then go get your self another car. The ITR will smoke 90% of the cars on the street in a road coarse.

Both DRAG and Rev Hard make a kit for the R that is a bolt-on affair.

As long as you stay within the parameters of the kit (6-8 psi) you will be fine with stock compression and head gasket.

As soon as people get rambunctious with the boost, that is when there is trouble.

Expect to pay about $3,000-3,500 for the kit, and another $300-600 for installation and tuning.

If you run the stock kit they each sell, then no, you don't. If you replace it with a thicker one, then that gives you a little margin of safety, and possibley the ability to run a few more pounds of boost.
