Does anyone know how to make the Corner lights not run and only turn them on when you use your turn signals. There is a site with it for the Si but i have an Ex and it doesn't work, any suggestions?

i read on another site to put electrical tape around one of the posts, and it'll only come on when the blinker is on. you just have to switch it until the right post is covered.

Aight guys, check this out.... for the lights to work you have 2 wires. (at least... black (negative) and red (positive) )

follow me so far? In DC electricity, you need your negative and positive to complete a circuit. You need your postivite electrons to go to the negitive and light your filiment and you have light. Ok, so when you turn on your switch for your sidemarkers/headlamps, you are making a link from your negative to positive. Now to actually make your sidemarkers go brigther and dimmer ( when its saying that your turning :p ) your having another wire go to that connector. So in total you have 3 wires to your sidemarker. 1 is negative, 2 is sidemarker low, and and 3 is sidemarker high. Your negative is used to give ground to both the sidermarker low and sidemarker high..... so all you have to do, in theory is disable the sidemarker low so that the sidemarker high is the only one that works. hope that helps you :)

fuck, here it is. basically you will see three wires going to your sidemarker. Cut one off and that should do what you want it to do. You kinda gotta guess at it, but just get some black tape and a wire stripper and it doesn't matter but if you wanna make it professional, go to radioshack, get a crimper and some connectors and there you go :) but thats kinda lame idea, I think anyway. ........ peace

ok first,
ToDamnSlow : I have an Ex, the thing on JDMfan is for an Si and doesn't work, I've done it.

2nd, did u guys actually get the cutting the wires to work, cuz actually I have already cut then and rewired and everything and it doesn't work, plus you get this annoying sound when your blinker is on too, cuz the clicks coincide with the blinks. j/w if you guys got this to work with the cut wires cuz i was running with no blinkers for a while and just had super white lights in the corners to make it even brighter.

aiite koo, i will try that out when i take off my bumper again since it will be really fast cuz they are all cut.

by the way you can follow that JDMfan euro conversion for the Ex, the only thing it will do for you is make your headlights come on at the first position instead of the corner lights.

Cut the red wire

You have to cut the red wire... There are three wire, a power wire. red, a remote wire (red with stripe in it, or a green wire..) and the ground wire which is black.. cut the solid red wire. no the one with the stripe on it.. it will work...

Does your car have a single filament?? it shouldnt?? You should have single filaments in the rear... if you have single filaments in the front you shouldnt have to cut any wires.. basically by cutting the wire you are makinga dual filament bulb, a single filament... do you get what im saying.. a dual is needed cuz of the 2 different brightness... when the lights are on normal, then brighter when they blink... Are you planning on wiring in a single fillament harness up there and taking out your dual filament?? if so, then you will wire it into the remote wire, which has the strip on it, and then the ground wire to the black wire.. call me if you want at (800) 433-3116 X 249.. i will be here at 1 oclock central, fixin to leave for lunch...

I was saying to replace the dual filament bulbs we have in there with a single filament. The 1156 and 1157 bulbs are the same just one is single and the other is dual filaments.

Would the blinker not work and the bulb just stay lit up? ...or the blinker would just work and the bulb would not light up? ...or the shit just would not work period :p
Just a thought I had since it seems like a lot of trouble to go through....

A single fillament bulb will not work in place of a dual fillament, if you look at the bottom of the dual fillament, there are 2 connectors or fillaments on there.. a single then of course has 1, a harness, what you put the bulb into, has the same thing inside.. so if you have a dual fillament harness, a single filament bulb will not even go in there...

Never noticed that. Should of known that would not work, but thought I'd ask.

well to cut the wire and to install a single filament bulb is the same amount of work since they are in the same place. And when you install a single filament bulb it won't work anywayz because what happens is that the power signal from both of the wires will be sent and so it will stay running all the time. The only solution is to cut the wire or make a single filament conversion which is more work than needed.

there are two prongs coming from the actual bulb. wrap electrical tape around one and put it in. i've never done it, so i don't know if it'll work or not. and single filament, i've heard, will blink really fast.
