I have a question, is there any advantage of buying only two rims instead of all four. I ask this because i have been seeing more cars with only two rims on them and two stock wheels. i dont get it. i also see so many damn cars with Sir, Sir-II, GTR, Type R, and so on stickers all over there car. I saw a Pontiac Grand Prix Type R as well as a Celica Type R this week. all i ask is WHY?

well im guessing some people can only afford 2 rims so they go for it in hope that some day they will be able to get the other two...and stickers are just ugly unless you have tons of them

i was rolling on my stockers in the front for about 1 month b/c i ddint have the dough to replace my worn out tires (due to no camber kit). That might be a reason for others too.
or there racing alot ;), but i think most racers like me don't even bother buying rims at all. hehehe:D

I think accord92sir came the closest to the real answer. Well for the most part anyway. Most people who race want to use smaller and lighter wheels in the front. So the just use stock wheels. Plus, some people put slicks on the stock rims so when they race they just put the front stock rims on and they are ready to go. But like accord92sir said, thats what some real racers do, or just roll on all the stock rims. But there are a lot of fool that think they look cool by doing that, and that leads to the same reason the put stickers on their cars, I hate to say it, but most people would call it RICE. Had to do it. Keep it clean, thats what i say. I have 6 rims, 2 of them look exactly the same, but are smaller for the front with nitto slicks on them. Anyway, thats why I think people do it.

I can understand when people do it for racing purposes. But alot of the time you'll see a car on the street, and you'll know it's not for racing and they have 2 rims and 2 hubs. I know people can't afford sometimes to buy rims, but don't buy just 2, and besides usually you'll get a better deal if you buy all 4 anyways rather than 2!

Here's is why you see so many...1 kid buys rims...still hasnt got a camber kit after his 4.5 in. drop. he has to take off the front wheels. His friend goes...hey dude, can i roll with your other 2 wheels on the back of my car since i dont got wheels? Kid with wheels goes "great idea, then it looks like we both have wheels...you get 3 ppl that do that...and you have 6 ppl rolling around with just 2 wheels! PEOPLE, this is a serous problem!! We need to stop this ASAP!!

The sticker thing is stupid but people rolling with 2 stock rims in the front and aftermarket rims in the back do that because when they are racing, they want to run with the lighter stock wheels and don't want to kill their aftermarket tires since they cost a grip.

yeah tires on 17 inch and 18 inch wheels are a whole lot and the rims tend to be heavy, I know alot of people who run dummies for that purpose.
