Ok...first I bought a 97 OEM CD headunit w/ a cassette piggyback from an ebay seller. I have installed it in a 94EX sedan, the unit came from a 97 coupe i believe)

I have spoken to two dealers and received the same unlock code from Torrance, CA. The code didn't work...further, I disconnected the battery terminals + and - and grounded the unit out per my dealer's instructions....code still doesn't unlock the unit.

Any other suggestions or ideas (besides buying an aftermarket unit)? Does the unit need the cassette piggyback to work (I hope not)?

try it with the cassette piggy-back. i guess its not detecting the cassette adapter, thus requirin' a different code?...

make sure you read the right serial number/ or just bring the deck to them and let them try it out.
