Valve cover bolts

Ok i broke one a while back and now about a half inch is stickin up can i just use my pliers and back it out ? and also how do i put the new one in without ruining the threads? thx

take the valve cover off, and you can use an 8mm open ended wrench to get out the stud, then get another bolt to put in there

if it's exposed, just use pliers to take it out. when you put a new one on, just tighten it until it's snug without using a ratcher and maybe 1/4 turn after it's seated.
