I have a 95 accord lx..n im planning of dropping in an h22a.

but ive got a big problem..my cars a little heavy.

to start off...ive a kit with a chin, GTr wing and some skirts
then im rolling on 18in rims...
then i have a sub box with one sub n an amp.

heavy load huh. hehe!

if there are somethings i can do to lighten things up..it would have to be taking of the wing and kit and puting my stock size rims. The box has to stay cause of hassle on re installing everything again. hehe!

now my trouble is..is getting the h22a worth it?

I wanna show of some SI guys what my cars made of so im planning to drop the h22a.

any tips? any cheap n/a tuning i can do to max out my weight? im after the i/h/e im planning for some cam gears and hondata...whatcha guys think?

thanks a lot.

to cut weight, lose the sub or get a smaller one, In the CL's there is a 50pound steel plate behind the rear seat, i assume the accords have it too. you could take that out the entire back seat for that matter. Get some light weight 17's. Take out the spare, jack and lose the wing, all it does is slow you down.

i say keep everything you spent your hard earned money on your car. yes they add weight, but an h22 in your car will well make up for it. i forget the weight differences of the prelude and accord of that same year, but my friend's h22 all-motor prelude is running low 13's consistently. he's sitting on 17's, has two subs and a kit etc....anyways, he's running heavy. after the swap, the accord can take out si's easy...they're not that fast.

if you want n/a power, i say get build your head. You'll definitely feel power with performance valves, valve springs, arms, cam shafts and cam gears. port and polish your exhaust and intake manifolds, headers, and throttle body...that's gonna be money, but you'll take out mighty V8's if you drive right.

You could sell your 18s and purchase a set of 17" Racing Hart CP035 wheels, which weigh only about 12lbs each.

Other than that, you'd have to question if gaining performance at the expense of your Accord's other qualities is worth it.

If beating Si Civics (which isn't that hard to do) is important but you don't want to sacrifice much (exc. cash), just bolt on a turbo kit and be done with it. With the Accord, weight is part of its personality; creating a quieter, smoother ride.

What does the Accord weigh in relation to the 4G and 5G Preludes? A quick HP/weight and tq/weight calculation might help. As for losing weight, some of your stuff will probably have to go...

I've noticed that '94-'97 Accords have that wierdo control link on the rear suspension...does that ever rub or is anybody having problems with that thing?
