Anyone know what the codes on an Integra GSR ECU stand for? How can you tell if its for an automatic or 5-speed? How can you tell if its VTEC or not? Thanks for the help.

FOR EXAMPLE - heres a 98 GSR ECU

heres a 97 GSR ECU

oh

I didn't know that you wanted to know the difference between an LS ecu and GSR ecu. You said a 97 GSR ecu and a 98 GSR ecu. Honestly I'm not sure. I'm not sure but the ecu number might be on there. I think the gsr is like P28 or something.

Here is a breakdown of the VTEC Integra ECU's, notice how the AT ad MT have different ending numbers, I assume that the 11 or 61 means AT, and the 00/01/02/03 means MT. I do not know if that is the same on the LS though.

Is there anywhere online where i can purchase a brand new ECU in the box? I don't want to buy an OBD II GSR 5-Speed ECU from someone on the net finding out that it doesn't work or its for a different setup (i.e. - auto or non-vtec). Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

By the way, thanks for the useful info Mugen1182!

I got my ecu from this one guy online, he sent me the ecu first so i can check it out and see if it works then i send him the $. He was pretty cool about it. Shortdahri, ask for a picture or something of the code when you go to buy your ecu to make sure you get the right one.

im using an ls ecu with my b16...I have an autometer rpm module to activate the vtec. Ls ecus are cheaper. you will have to get the revlimiter moved, but thats no biggie. the rpm module switce is like 70 bucks i think..everything together may be cheaper then the gsr ecu and harness adapter
