Well I have a 93 lx sadan whitch I thought was a d15b7 but on the block it says d15b8.Is there a difference?

Either your car is really a CX or someone swapped a CX motor into your LX.
werd. but whats the difference between the motors?
i think ones 16 valve and th other is 12 valve. both non vtec. 102hp and 92hp i believe, respectively. slow and slower.

D15B7 - Civic DX/LX - 16 valve - 102 hp
D15B8 - Civic CX - 8 valve - 70 hp

I have to get that slow shit out of there.A car with that much horsepower! :mad What was it originally it's purpose?

just a stab in the dark..gas mileage? affordability?
