both should fit with clearence, but the 40's would look better......thats what i have on my 17's, of course theres a better chance of folding your rim on a pothole with lower profile tires though.

AgREE :)

I don't like 40's on 17"s
I've loved the 205/45/17 thats the only size I have been using on my accord.

+1

I've been using 215/45/17 though...I REALLY need a camber kit though, the insides are worn atleast 50% more than the outter tread... :mad

if its a 4dr, id go with a 215/45/17 or a 205/45/17 tire. theyre not too thin, but not too thick. theyd be able to handle the weight a little better than a thinner tire. also the ride comfort will be a little better.

I ahve a 2door 17" 215/45/17, I had 40's belive it or not i felt the difference in smoothness. These R Firestone Fuzions they r thick on the sidewalls compared to any other low profile tires. I worked at a tire shop i seen the difference its wierd 40's unless fuzions r way to thin on sidewall.

the fuzions suck as a tire...my friend got them and they were cool for a while, but wouldn't grip for shit after like 100 miles :lol

yes when i had my 99 accord it was lowered 2in with 17's and a 215/45/17 the 40 might leave some wheel gap and a 50 might rub...45 :clap
