What size injectors to go with...

I have a B18C1 fully built with a revhard stage II setup. I will be running Hondata when I get the injectors. I'm looking for 400 ta 450 whp now. What size injectors to go with... Anyone have a formula ?? I had a set of 440cc but I left them at my friends shop and someone stole them. I'm gonna upgrade in the future so i'd like to get bigger than I need. A set that would hold me to 500 hp would be good cuz that is my goal.

440's would be good... get some used off an eclipse turbo... they shouldnt be that much...
I'd like to get larger than 440's. How large injector can hondata support ??
For that HP your looking at around 650 - 800cc size injectors. 440 are only good for 300WHP, but I'm sure some people are getting more out of 440's. For the basic equation go to www.rceng.com. Not sure on the max injector size Hondata can support, butI know for a fact that Hondata can handle the injector size you are going to need for that amount of HP. Good luck.
You need to do two things:

1) Use the formula from the RC site listed above. Add 10-20% to your hp goal to allow for a margin.

2) Talk to Hondata and ask them if their system has precise enough control over injector pulse to idle the car with injectors at that size without getting rich and washing the rings.

Good luck with your project.
for my set up i use 310cc RC injectors

I agree here. You will need a much larger injector as long as you have a 1:1 or a 2:1 FPR.....otherwise you could run maybe some 520cc or maybe even smaller, but the fuel pressures would be insanely high. You would be better to go with a larger injector and less pressure rise from the FPR......the only problem night be getting it to idle and make low end power, but hopefully you can sort that out with the Hondata comp.

@ around 500 Hp, you're looking at using 720cc injectors to be on the safe side....but you an use 550cc, but they'll be working too hard. Just get the 720cc, they're the same price anyways, and tune it out with your Hondata.
I'm Prolly gonna get 770cc... I just want the car to be drivible and idle good...
I would go with the 770's
if you use 310cc injectors do you still need a resistor box?
I believe that the pricing from RC injectors changes at the 550cc to 720cc mark (meaning all injector from 720-up are the same price, while the 550's are the same price as 440's, etc.). The price difference was around $75can/injector (i think).

As for sizing, go with 720's. They work great with Hondata and will be adequate for 450+whp. All you have to do is pull out your stock injectors and plug in the 720's. Hondata injector sizing and injector multiplier will take care of the rest. Hondata can easily handle 720's and mine behave similar to the stock injectors (no idle change).

I had 550's on my car during my first dyno run (the 350whp&300ft/lb run @ 13psi). They were reaching 100% duty cycle at upper rpms at 18psi. So, I decided that I needed to change, to accomodate future upgrades and higher boost runs, etc. I was told by RC that 550's would be adequate for at least 400whp, but they were suprised to see that I maxed the injectors out that early (review has shown that I might have been able to lean out that area and still stayed at an air/fuel around 12.2, while keeping the injectors below 80% duty cycle).

RC says to go with the smallest injector that will get you to your hp target. Trust me your hp target will change. 720's will do the job well.

ps. You will be using a 1:1 fpr with the hondata system

XES... What is your whp now with what duty cycle ?? What motor setup are you using ??

I wish I knew, but I don't. On 720's with my old setup (i.e. 9:1 compression & a custom t3/t04e stage III superV) at 18psi, my turbo was running out of steam. I believe that was around 65-70% (i don't have romeditor on this computer so I can't check right now). So best guesses put my whp values at the end of last year between 400 and 500whp.

On the new setup (higher compression, custom 62-1, new i/c, piping, etc.) values should be available within a month or so. The new turbo is good for 650+whp (a number i'll never get close to), so only boost should limit my hp. I have a new custom rom to run a vtec ecu with my setup (thus using both low and high speed tables, rather than only low speed tables), thus enabling better (but more time consuming) tuning. At 18psi on pump gas, i'm hoping to break 500whp @ 3500feet. Only time will tell.
