would a b18c1 be a good swap for the car? i was tihnking ls/vtec but that seems it needs a bit toomuch maintanence... any help would be appreciated... thanks

ls/vtec doesnt really require maintenance if its done right. its also much cheaper than a b18c. dont waste ur time w/ a b16 because its trque wouldnt be able to pull ur car. if ur looking into a ls/vtec or b20/vtec swap, make sure u get someone who knows how to do it.

You should just keep your block and do an LS/VTEC. I always question people when they decide to ditch their LS motor for a b16. I mean, don't get me wrong I love the b16, but if you have the ls block, make full use of it!! Just my thought...

if you want a straight forward swap then you can get a b16a from a japanese xsi that will come with the ecu and cable trans and will all plug right in as long as you get the riight year. and whoever sed the b16a would be able to pull the g2 teg, its basically the same weight as an SI.

the power is real nice on the b16a for the price but with a b20 you'll have a nice torque curve and is more suited for the light to light racing [if thats what your seeking].

b18c1 nice but too much over priced.

sure its the same weight, but the car will be still slow. im not trying to clown on Si's, but where im from they get smoked on a daily basis. its gonna take more than a b16 to make a coupe move. i agree w/ jus making use of the block. a b16 cable tranny doesnt cost much, and neither does the head. an ecu would be easy to find. ur prolly gonna spend only a 1/3 of what a gsr swap would cost.

well a GSR is running about the same with the SI, but by .1 faster. so i mean thats pretty good, but i think alot of people hate on the b16a's cuz theres no torque.

im not hating on he b16. the b16 is a great motor, but just not for a coupe. honda shouldve stuck w/ having the si's as hatches. im not to sure the Si is that close w/ a gsr. i used to get si's w/ my single cam(intake and exhaust only), by at least a car, and sometimes a little more. and i remember racing a a stock gsr that got me by a lot. i guess it could be up to the driver

in SCC or something when they featured the HKS turbos on the SI and GSR, the times were GSR: 15.6 and SI: 15.7. true. if honda did put the b16 in a hatch it would have been very very very very niceeeeeeeeee
