What's this about Ground Control squeaking??

1327 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Mojo-Jojo
I heard in 2 threads about how Ground Control's can squeek.
I think that would be soooooooo annoying to here the suspension squeeking when riding with a girl trying to have conversation.

I ask because I am looking to get GC's for my LX very soon.

I know they come with a rubber bushing thing??? to hold it to the shock??? I may be wrong but I am sure that piece would cause all the noise. I don't have any noise coming from my skunk2 coilovers...I just wish it had a helper spring.
I have no idea what that would be. My ground controls don't make any noises.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is a helper spring? ..does GC have this?

Thanks!
Ground Controls don't have helper springs. Two companies that I know of that do are WeaponR and the R1 Dual coilovers.

Do you know what an helper spring is? I have never heard this term before

You said you are happy with your GC's though :)

I believe he is talking about the dual spring coilovers. There are actually two springs that ride on top of each other with a spacer between them. It is supposed to help keep the tire on the ground in hard cornering.

I am very happy with my GC's. I like how they feel. Not too stiff like most sleeved coilovers you will find. And another good thing that I like about them is I got rid of my wheel gap I had with Neuspeed sports like you.

Cool. I'm not into auto-x'ing so that would be a waste of $$ for me.

Glad to hear another person happy with the GC's :)

That is funny about the Sports and how you took them out 2 :D
Did you sell them? I got someone who is going to give me $120. I may just say $115 or $110.

No I haven't sold them yet. I washed them up and they are sitting in my closet right now. I am waiting until I go home for spring break to maybe sell them to one of my friends.

thats exactly what I am talking about...tein HA has a dual spring set up!
The people that are complaining probably just forgot to lube the bushings.
