What year did Honda begin using hydro tranny's? I'm helping a friend with a B16 swap in his CRX and he would like to add GSR tranny if possible. I told him I didn't think it was possible since his B16 has a cable tranny. Am I right? Thanks guys.

It is possible. It does require more work then dropping in a 1st gen B16 though.

I would give you more info, but I am a college student and I just got back from a party. So you can probably understand what I am getting at. I will look it up tomorrow and let you know more.

You could use a 2nd gen Integra tranny, those are cable too if I remember right.
tranny

I know the 92 and 93 integras are cable trannys and the 94+ is a hydrolic trany

Why would he want a B18C1 tranny? The gearing is a little longer than the b16a. B16a tranny is better than a b18c1 tranny in a b16a engine.
I thought the GSR tranny was the best for all motor cars?

The tranny with shortest gearing is a JDM ITR tranny.
