What you have heard is correct, you want it as far away as possible (within reason), such as close to the filter. I am sure there will be some people that jump on here and disagree but I have done it both ways (closer to the TB and close to the filter) and have experienced a better result with it farther away. The reason being is not only the way it atomizes but it also works as an intercooling effect, which cools the whole intake charge on its wayt to the manifold. If the nozzle is as close to the TB as yours is and with a dry kit what happens is that the nitrous is not distributed as evenly to all cylinders and you lose some of the intercooling effect that you have with it it far away.
