ZC Motor is from Japanese SI 1.6 DOHC Non VTEC. Around 130 Horsepower. Its a pretty simple swap for a 4th gen. The nice thing is it will bolt up to ur 89-91 Tranny from DX or SI. It won't bolt upto 88 I dont know why. I'm sure the tech guru's know alot more then me about the motor then me and will ad some things in.

theres also a us version of the zc but it doesnt say ZC on the block..Its in the 86-89 integras...the D16A1 I think it is...like oneslwcivic said, it will bolt up to your tranny be it si or dx...but if you put it in a dx you need an si ecu and wiring harness

A b18 can be swapped in. If your talking about the non vtec b18a or b18b i think you need a mount kit. Plusses cheep lots of torque can do frankenstein later can meet emissions. Minuses mount kit extra weight up front harder install than sohc vtec or zc.

you will need a mount kit for anything larger then the sohc or zc...the b18 does have good torque and you can go ls/vetc later....as far as emissions...he makes it sound easier then it is....to pass emisions with any swap except the sohc you will have to take it to the smog ref to get it legally certified..If you do that you can smog your car anywhere...its a lot of hassle so you can get it smogged illegally and its easier. the zc from japan wont pass smog, but the one from the us will...b16a wontpass but the b16a2 and a3 will...dunno why, but the state will only let the a2 and a3 pass...any us motor will pass the ref as long as all the smog equipment is still hooked up...the motor must be the same year as your car or newer...if you go with a motor 96 or newer it has to be set up for OBD2...but once again..lots of hassle...so just say screw it, get a good motor, tune the shit out of it, smoke everyone, illegally smog it, and be happy.

if you want some good info about swaps into cars check this site out...gives a lot of good info http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/

tHE ZC ENGINE I BOUGHT FOR MY OLD EF9 CIVIC THAT I HAD I GOT IT FROM NIPPON MOTORS. THEY ONLY CHARGED ME 500 BUCKS BECAUSE I ONLY BOUGHT THE LONGBLOCK CAUSE I HAD AN 91 SI SO I JUST USED MY EXISTING TRANS AND ECU. I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT WHAT SO EVER ITS A GOOD BANG FOR YOUR BUCK I SAY.

CL Sleeper-you will need engine, tranny, and ecu of course. you will need to get a b series mount kit for the 88-91 civics. if you are doing it yourself, you may need to take a hammer to the drivers side of the engine bay. In some of the US hatches I've noticed, the alternator pully and the crankshaft pully come close to the drivers side of the engine bay. A few hits with a hammer will push it far enough. But its almost impossible to do it with the motor in the car, so do it before you drop it in.

CL Sleeper-CNC doesn't do swaps but Hook ups does...They did my swap and I have had zero problems.....I have only heard bad things from one person about them, and he is on here...I think its an isolated case because he is the first. As far as the price, off the top of my head I can't quote you a price, but I can find out...for reference, the b16 swap was 2000 which included labor, engine, tranny, ecu, mounts, etc. I know the c5 swap will be more expensive, unless you bring the motor to them since it is a fairly expensive motor...I believe if you have a DX you need to change the hubs, btu dont quote me on that..It just may be for the HF CRX's. for labor and mounts only, I estimate about 500..plus or minus a few..If you want I can call them and then get back to you..
